Catherine Doyle grew up beside the Atlantic Ocean in the west of Ireland. Her love of reading began with great Irish myths and legends, and fostered in her an ambition to one day write her own. She is the author of The Lost Girl King as well as the bestselling Storm Keeper trilogy, set on the magical island of Arranmore where her grandparents grew up. The first book in the trilogy, The Storm Keeper's Island, won the Books Are My Bag Readers Award and the IBW Children's Book Award. Catherine lives in Galway.
Utterly brilliant. Sensationally swashbuckling. Completely magical. Doyle perfectly balances thrilling adventure, huge amounts of heart and a truly hilarious parrot in this piratical triumph * A.F Steadman, author of Skandar and the Unicorn Thief * Like being swept away by the sea * Katherine Rundell, author of The Explorer on The Storm Keeper's Island * A thrilling adventure — loveable characters, magical folklore and a seriously scary villain. Truly one of the best fantasy stories I’ve ever read. * A.F. Steadman, author of Skandar and the Unicorn Thief on The Lost Girl King * Few do page-turning, high-stakes, and warm and witty adventure as well as Catherine Doyle, and The Lost Girl King is a writer at the height of her powers. You won’t want to put it down! * Kiran Millwood Hargrave on The Lost Girl King *
